Tenor Guitar Gathering - Astoria, OR
Connecting Chords with Brian Oberlin
Strumming chords on the Tenor Guitar sure is fun, but, there is any easy way to advance your accompaniment and musicianship skills by playing short musical lines in between the chords. This workshop will delve into that very topic. We will discover accessible and fun methods to connect chords that are used in the blues, swing, bluegrass and folk music. These connective lines are essentially tiny solos and can also serve as an intro to improvisation without the daunting 16 or 32 measure commitment. It will also improve your listening and theory skills. Charts will be available in notation/tab and chord shapes for GDAE and CGDA Tenor guitars. DGBE Tenor players can benefit from the workshop but there will not be chord shape charts or tablature.
Workshop is 50 minutes long
