The Artistry and History of Mandolin – Lecture/Concert
Join Michigan's mandoliner, Brian Oberlin on a journey through the ages of mandolin and its original music.  Mandolins are the great collaborator of music and have been since their inception in the 1700s.  From early Baroque of Italy and Spain, to the folk music of Brazil and Romantic music of Germany, Japan and Italy, to the myriad folk musics of the United States, the 8-stringed instrument has wowed audiences of all demographics and social classes. With the help of stellar music partners, Brian will take listeners on a one-of-kind experience that proves the mandolin's versatility, charm and beauty.
