Swing Mandolin For Sport
Instructor: Brian Oberlin
Prerequisites: Be able to read notation or tablature at an intermediate level and be able to play chords in rhythm and adjust to new chord shapes. Improvisation skills would be helpful but not a prerequisite.
Workshop objective: An intensive 2 hours for learning many new aspects of the mandolin. Technique: Improving tone, speed, cleaner notes, agility, and fretting hand tricks. Improvisation: Learning navigation points for self-improvement, and learning some good old-fashioned hot licks.
Chords: Many new chords will be discussed and their appropriate rhythms. Musicianship: The most important aspect of playing with others is musicianship and this will be thoroughly discussed.
